Membership
To become a member you have must be currently serving or have served honorably in the United States Marine Corps on active duty for not less than ninety days and earned the Eagle, Globe and Anchor; or have served or are currently serving in the United States Marine Corps Reserve and have earned no less than ninety Reserve Credit Points; or have served or are currently serving as a U.S. Navy Corpsmen that has trained with U.S. Marine FMF Units in excess of ninety days and has earned the Marine Corps Device or Warfare Device worn on the Service Ribbon, authorized for FMF Corpsmen; or have served or are currently serving as a U.S. Navy Chaplin and have earned the FMF Badge serving with U.S. Marines.
Misson
The mission of the Marine Corps League Garrett County Detachment 1234 are as follows:
Promote camaraderie and fellowship among it’s members in preserving the traditions and interests of the United States Marine Corps
Voluntarily aiding and rendering assistance to all Marines, FMF Corpsmen, and FMF Navy Chaplains and Marine Veterans, and to their widows and orphans. Perpetuate the history of the United States Marine Corps and by fitting acts to observe the anniversaries of historical occasions of particular interest to Marines.
Provide support to the following organizations; Toys for Tots, Marine Raider Foundation, Cindy’s Fund, Meals on Wheels and local charities.
Meeting Time
We welcome you to attend our meetings on the first Thursday of each month at 1900.
Our meetings our held at the American Legion Post 71 (lower level) located at 423 Memorial Drive, Oakland MD 21550.
